“The philosophy of Middle School East is to provide each individual student with a safe and challenging environment that will enable them to succeed both academically and socially. The experience at Middle School East will develop in students a favorable attitude toward learning and creativity.  Students will not only learn to strive for academic excellence, but will also learn to acquire self-sufficiency and a respect for diversity.” – Middle School East Mission Statement

Welcome to the Middle School East. As outlined by our mission statement, the faculty and staff at MSE work hard to provide an environment that has high expectations while ensuring all students achieve success. We believe that every student has the potential to be successful in all facets of the education process.

MSE students learn that success is not always easily obtained. As the faculty guides the students on their journey to high school, students learn that ultimately, their education is in their own hands. Students are expected to work as hard as they can to achieve the goals that the faculty places upon them. Students and parents can expect that the faculty will work as hard as they can to ensure that all students get the necessary help in achieving their goals.

The lessons that the MSE students learn goes beyond the curriculum learned within the classroom. Each student will learn to be a contributing member to the MSE community. Students will be respectful of their peers and the MSE staff. Each student brings a unique set of talents, ideas and skills to school with them everyday. Students will learn to work with students who have a different set of talents, values or skills to create an environment that is safe and productive. The students will learn to value their own education and understand the opportunities that a great education will bring.

Throughout the course of the school year, MSE students are offered many extra-curricular activities. Approximately once a month, the faculty will host an activity at the school for the student to participate in. In the past these events have included dances, faculty/student games and presentations. In the spring of every year students will have the chance to travel to Washington D.C. or participate in Heritage Week. Through these extra-curricular activities the faculty promotes a sense of belonging for every student.

I encourage every parent to become involved in their child’s education. To help your child achieve success check his or her agenda frequently. Ask your student about school. If you feel that there is a problem, contact your child’s teacher immediately. In order for your child to be as successful as possible, you need to help guide them in the process. Understand that you are an asset to our faculty and we want to keep an open line of communication. We hope that students, faculty and parents can form a partnership that ideally will make classroom success inevitable.

If any problems or concerns should arise throughout the school year please contact me. I can be reached at 508.478.1170 or

Good luck throughout the year.

Sincerely,

Craig A. Consigli
